Layover in Munich.

Yes… this was our 3rd stop with 4 kids before our final destination.

We saved so much money though… like, hundreds per ticket!

I was adamant about searching for every option available in order to save as much as possible. I succeeded, and although we faced a few bumps in the road, at least we weren’t pulling any wheeled bags along with us. πŸ˜‰ It’s important to look at the positives. πŸ˜†

I have learned that I understand convenience for a price, but I love to be frugal and do the most with what we have. If it weren’t for this, we wouldn’t be able to explore and experience as much as we have as a family.

Inconvenience is necessary sometimes. πŸ˜‰

… with 4 kids, every dollar saved provides us more opportunities for fun!

Let’s be honest though, it was one heck of a trip already.

Right when we landed we decided we would be last to get off of the plane because we weren’t feeling our best. We wanted to let everyone else go ahead.

Jet lag had us parents feeling nauseous.

We shouldn’t have waited though because to our not so pleasant surprise, everyone on our plane was now waiting for us… they couldn’t leave without us…

Because there was only one bus to the terminal.

Yes..

a BUS! Filled to the brim with people!

All eyes were fixated on the 6 of us.

We wiggled our way into the last available space with just enough room for the doors to shut.

That bus ride felt like the longest 5 minutes of my life.

It was quiet.. and super awkward.

Feeling slightly ill.. this definitely made it worse. πŸ˜†

Upon departure from the bus, we found the first seats inside and dropped all of our bags.. just to breathe for a second.

Phew.

We had made it to Germany!!!

Munich.. our 3rd stop.

Thankfully, Germans cater to children. There are many play structures located throughout the Munich airport. Each one is different and exciting! All of a sudden, the kids all felt like they had arrived at a super fun place.. all while we were just waiting for our final flight.

We then shopped for toys and candy, then they all played some more before we boarded a plane yet again.

German hard candies and Kinder eggs are all of our favorites! We got enough hard candies to last us quite a while. 😍

After eating their kinder eggs, all of the girls enjoyed their surprise toy inside! (The kinder eggs in America are completely different.. the egg isn’t an egg at all).

This stop gave our girls their first real experiences with another language being spoken all around them.

Plus, the escalators are so long in every terminal.. it was like we had taken them to a really fun shopping mall!

Munich.. or MΓΌnchen, maybe someday we will stay and explore the city.. for now, I am just sooo thankful for how family-friendly the airport was.

Once it was time to board our plane, we were greeted with gifts for each child! All of the items were age appropriate- cards, a puzzle, removable sticker scene, and a stuffed Lufthansa airplane.. the kids were happy and content.

We were all ready to Say Hello to the sunshine, fiiiinally… 🌞

Next stop, Italy!!! βœˆπŸ’‹
