The pandemic happened.
I had waited to publish posts because I was just so busy.
Now, I’m still busy, but in an entirely different way.
Life has thrown one heck of a curve ball, and instead of updating you on the many adventures that I plan to share, I would rather take the time to reflect on our current situation in life.
God has given us a blessing in disguise. The chance to have the time to seek truth and understanding. To really appreciate the life that we have been given. To no longer take relationships for granted, or the ability to venture wherever you choose.
As Americans, we are reminded regularly that we are the “Land of the Free because of the Brave.” I fully believe that, and I am willing to stand for what I believe to be right. To be brave and speak from my perspective. I am fully capable of researching information from various sites, listening to conferences and hearings, and analyzing the data provided to me from the regional emergency services agency. I know why I no longer believe the validity of the news reports from journalists in the media. I hear what is said firsthand, and then I see reports on the same quotes, but being completely taken out of context or just edited to manipulate the viewers perceptions.
The biggest stories going unreported.
If you really are paying attention, you will notice. There is a reason that so many people have lost trust in the media and it didn’t happen overnight, but it has slowly drifted in the wrong direction.
Do not assume that every journalist is seeking to speak truth. They are paid to promote stories and they only need to redirect your attention in manipulative ways in order for you to feed into their desire for attention. You do not know the people doing the reporting. They decide what they focus on. They direct your thoughts.
Always question.
Money is the root of all evil. There are many questions that have come to surface during this time of uncertainty and fear.
Do not fear.
Be skeptical of the decisions being made for you by the ones that you have elected to represent you.
Speak up if you want answers. Not in a disrespectful way. Asking questions and disagreeing with others shouldn’t result in loss of freedom. The amount of censoring being done by social media platforms is astounding, and it should open the eyes of everyone.
If nothing is to be questioned, we are to stay home and shut up.. what will you allow next?
I was fully supportive of the time we took to prepare our healthcare system for an overwhelming amount of cases, but we are ready. It’s time to open any businesses that want to open. It’s time to understand that people understand the situation and should be able to live freely.
The schools are shut down and nursing homes are no longer allowing visitors. Those two changes alone will continue to slow the spread. There is no way to justify allowing hundreds of people into large stores, such as Walmart, while small businesses suffer, and churches are prohibited from holding indoor services.
The amount of control is breathtaking.
One of my favorite quotes is from Alexander Hamilton, “If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.”
While you may disagree with me, that’s great, we live in America where we should encourage freedom of thought and opinions. I just want to encourage you not to blindly follow someone just because you like how they talk, how they look, or that their name has an R or a D next to it. They are just people like you and I that signed up one day to be on the ballot, and they won the votes.
Like I said, I was in complete favor of encouraging the community to stay home and stay healthy in order to slow the rate of infection. I still believe that we should do our best to make sure and frequently wash our hands, cover our coughs, stay home when feeling ill, and sanitize surfaces.
After two months of being the best example I can be, I am still trying to do so.
There has been a drastic increase in domestic abuse and suicides. I have felt that impact. Being told to stay home with everything shut down, jobs lost, and finances being a constant worry, has increased depression in many people as well as anger.
People have lost their businesses.
There needs to be balance.
Yes, we should be careful, but if the route we are on has caused such devastation in so many other aspects of life, how can you continue to follow along?
Balance is key.
I can not promote loss of freedom and the invasion of privacy that is happening in Washington State. Some have called it selfish to want to open businesses and are demeaning those who do not agree. I would argue that it’s selfish to only think about how it is hurting some people while ignoring the hurt and economic devastation of many others.
Freedom is essential to the foundation of this country.
Stand up for what you believe in.

“Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.
Stand Therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints-and for me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
